What is a stub network?

A stub network is characterized by having a single entry and exit point, which means all packets to and from that network must pass through that one point. This configuration simplifies routing management because there are no alternative paths for data to travel, making it easier to configure and control traffic flow. For instance, if a router is connected to a stub network, it can easily manage the routing protocols and maintain a consistent routing table since it only needs to consider the single connection route.
